Catching up! I

I guess it's about darn time I posted some more pictures from our adventures in our new home! It was a busy summer, and the winter has been a little overwhelming with all the snow. The month of February has had the 3rd biggest snowfall since they started recording snowfall here. It's a lot.

When we first moved here, one of the first adventures was a trip up to Togwotee Pass to go snowshoeing. They get drastically more snow than we do. So if you're planning to come visit us in the spring or fall, we can probably find some snow for you.

This is our backyard, it's got a big patch of willows that the moose love. This fox was a fairly regular visitor to the neighborhood last spring. She had her den a couple miles away. I didn't get to see the kits, but Tim was lucky enough to see them. DYK? Female foxes are vixen.

My buddy Joshua came to visit us on his way from Nashville to Mount Rainier. We checked out Buffalo Valley one day. It's pretty, and is also loaded with huckleberry bushes and raspberry bushes. Carry your bear spray.

Joshua and Tim in front of Phelps Lake

I love awkward pictures. Hilarious!

Sooo, the above picture is Tim trying to get up the nerve to jump off the jumping rock into Phelps Lake. He's in his boxers. It was approximately 50ish degrees that day. He chickened out.

This lovely little flower is a lady slipper orchid. They are rare, difficult to find, and teeny tiny. This one was in the middle of the trail, luckily no one trampled it. I only saw one last year. Hopefully we'll see more this year.

My first summer in Grand Teton...

Sooooo..... I started going back through my photos from this spring, and there are more coming. This is what I was welcomed with in April. I'm noticing that the aspens and willows have started changing colors, and it's a little disconcerting, because I know that sub zero temperatures are in my not too distant future. Tim says I'll be just fine. I sure hope so.
This was the first Park Headquarters, it's in our neighborhood.

This is our house!

I don't think we'll be using the side door very much in the winter.

Sage Grouse! looking for lady grouse!

Can you see the sage grouse?

Tim misses his beard.

Lupine Meadow. doesn't actually have many lupines.

I love twisty trees!

highlands ranch- only used in the summer. I wonder why?

Squatch doesn't get snowshoes, but she might get some this winter.

Humperdinck also enjoys snowshoeing.
