Yerdley Pool

The pool!

We couldn't get past it, this was the goal of the hike, but check out the pour off!

Todd trying to coax Uly into the water again

South Temple Wash Pictographs

I think these are considered in the "carrot stick man" category. That's a real term!

Armando goes to: Valley of the Gods

This is Armando

A reminder that this is BLM territory.

Tight squeeze, but at least Uly wasn't in the middle.

Tim left his sunglasses in the tent so he borrowed mine. Stylin!

Hondoo hondu? arch. neato!

Uly loves water

Just slightly before Tim twisted an ankle, whoops!

Head of Sinbad and Lone Warrior Pictographs

Thousands of years ago, someone painted this.

This was near the other one, but minerals leached from the rock, covering it a bit.

Shorts weather! Finally!

There are petroglyphs at the bottom of this wall. If you click on it to make it bigger you can see them better.

This one is called Lone Warrior.
Tim and I took a day to go explore some awesome rock art in the area. I love the mystery surrounding these things. I love to think about the people who saw these places before we did, and then try to see what they thought was special. And then to think that some of these survived the elements for centuries or millenia and can be seen today! That's awesome.

Rochester Panel

he has toes!

I love the weird looking bird, and the bighorn sheep with two heads

I don't know if it's elk or deer, but check out it's rack!

cute little bug? on top of the rainbow

or alien.

no idea.

7 was a significant number to a lot of native cultures, 4 compass directions plus up, down, and self

This looks like some sort of crazy story of a guy falling out of the sky and a giant lizard chasing them?

Looks like a hunter with a deer and a bear?

Ding and Dang Canyons

We thought we were going there, but were totally wrong.

Detour! Went up the wrong side canyon.

Down was much easier than going up this one.

I think this was the only water we found

And now you have to go to the other side...
