Last week's snowfall

this is a picture of the prints a raven left while taking off, you can totally tell, right?

We are expecting more snow to fall today, tonight and tomorrow, yipee. I'm not exactly excited for it. However, this is what it makes the canyon look like when it does snow. It is quite the veritable wonderland. Last week our road got shut down due to poor driving conditions, and this week the forecast is for more snow. I think it's going to miss us simply because everyone's ready for it.

Double Coconut yumminess!

so pretty!

nom nom nom nom

These are super moist! and quite delicious. Yep. Everyone who likes coconut loved these. Tim thinks they should be featured at the August 29th get together we're having. Coconut goes from warm to burnt in an instant, but I think it was nicely toasted, and gave them a cute little crunch.

I'm still having some issues burning my cupcakes, I think I need to wait 2-3 minutes before putting one pan in, because the other isn't having any issues. The ones that don't burn are the silicone ones. weird. I figured since I'm using cupcake liners there aren't any weird contaminations coming from the silicone.

Did anyone else think they tasted like macaroons? mmmmm, so yummy!

I took half to work with me, and Tim took half to the entrance station. Haven't heard from the entrance station yet.

More Saguaros!

I like the way the ribs diverge sometimes.

I feel like this one is saying "HI GUYS!!!"

I'm sorry if there are repeats, Blogger has been giving me fits when I make a big long post with lots of photos. Hence, several posts with photos...

Saguaros!

These are saguaros at different ages, kinda cool.

Saguaros's arms wilt when there's cold weather, and if they survive, eventually they start growing up.

Saguaros can make pearls! not the kind you'd want on a necklace, but still cool.

skeletons are neat! I think there's a nest in there.

Heavenly saguaro

just so gosh durned cute!

happy sunset hour

I like how they look close up.

Budding saguaro bosoms

Animals at the Sonoran Desert Museum

But he's also napping.

Javelinas from a different angle, napping.

I don't know about you, but I think they've got the right idea. Nap time.

Tim and my future mother in law!

I like it when people read the informational panels.

On the ecological loop trail, a nice little meander.

Anyone can hug a tree....

Look at those cacti!

quite prickly, but very friendly!

I wasn't sure if he was going to get stuck or not, but totally worth the photo op!
